    The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort offers 401 guest rooms and suites along with 28 exquisite beachside villas.  The contemporary architecture by Brennan Beer Gorman Architects, the St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort was inspired by the mythical concept of two intertwined dragons. From the soft concave arch of the arrival pavilion to the repeated form of the “dragon’s back” incorporated in the guestroom wings, the St. Regis presents a dramatic shape on the skyline, echoing the ridgeline of the surrounding mountains and the movement of the waves. 
    Inspired by its nautical surroundings, DiLeonardo’s approach to the hotel’s interiors celebrate the sea, sand and nearby marina.  The impressive Porte Cochere and main lobby are expansive, clean-lined voluminous spaces that have been appointed with clean, rich wood finishes evoking the world’s most luxurious yachts.  Additional nautical-inspired detailing elements include sand-colored exotic stones as well as upholstered furnishings that mimic those found on the elegant trans-ocean liners of the past.  Finely finished woodwork and polished metalwork contrast with rough-cut stone creates an interesting juxtaposition that is both luxurious and relaxing.
    The spacious guestrooms and villas feature sweeping views of the sea, marina and surrounding mangroves.  Designed as relaxing island sanctuaries, the guest rooms evoke a sophisticated and relaxing “guest quarters by the sea” environment.  The spaces are appointed with an eclectic collection of fine furnishings and artifacts collected from around the world.  The creamy neutral color palette is accentuated by local raw silks and tonal damasks with vibrant, rich colors that add dimension to the room. The high-gloss wood and polished metal finishes contrast with the use of natural materials that reflect the region’s plush and unique local surroundings.  Elements of nautical whimsy, such as yacht cleats for hanging clothing, add character and familiarity.  The contemporary bathrooms are appointed with local materials, including indigenous “woven” stone tiles, onyx vanity tops and Macore wood.  A generously proportioned shower and contemporary soaking tub provide stunning views outdoors.

A World of Culinary Experiences
    Located in the hotel lobby, the Drawing Room offers a selection of open-air venues for guests at all times of the day. This grand “living room” provides comfortable opportunities for guests to sit, read and relax alone or to partake in an offering from the many selections at the tea bar.  A contemporary, nautical stained glass transom is the feature of the Drawing Room, playing with the sunlight throughout the space.  An eclectic grouping of lounge chairs offer private spaces with views of the terrace and the sea beyond and a large wooden ceiling fan turns slowly overhead.  The adjacent bar is the perfect place to enjoy warm, relaxing evenings. The bar itself features lacquered wood with inlays of mother of pearl and comfortable, plush lounge like seating.
    Social, the all-day dining restaurant is a casual, residential open kitchen concept.  The restaurant is filled with natural light and spills out onto an outdoor terrace that accommodates al fresco dining with beautiful views.  Rustic wooden tables display buffets of main dishes and sides. Painted built-in cabinetry features collections of china and cookbooks, creating a relaxed, comfortable environment. 
    Decanter is an intimate wine cellar that brings guests into a rustic grotto-like environment lined with wine storage racks and glass displays. Ornate glass pendant fixtures set into a brick-lined vaulted ceiling softly illuminate the communal tasting table while. Oversized tailored wingback chair groupings provide privacy for small groups.
    Ming Xuan is an elegant and contemporary restaurant that is comfortable and inviting; with a blend of rich warm tones against a creamy neutral backdrop.  Lustrous lacquered wood is the standout design feature of the spacious restaurant, with wood pillars that rise into recessed lit chambers in the ceiling and wide vertical wood plank panels that serve as room dividers.  Gorgeous linen square pendant chandeliers suspend from a striking lacquered wood ceiling panel fixture, and chairs upholstered in citrus colors round out the venue with bright splashes of warm colors.
    Driftwood is a distinct and secluded beachfront venue that includes a bar, restaurant and private dining room connected by covered walkways and outdoor terraces. Painted plaster walls, wide wood plank flooring and beamed ceilings provide a quaint and familiar ambiance for the vibrant bar and restaurant. The warm and rustic interior environments are reminiscent of a home in a European seaside village. An eclectic collection of painted chairs, iron light fixtures and wooden tabletops provide an elegant and casual atmosphere. An oyster and champagne bar and a fresh seafood display with an open kitchen allow guests to watch the chefs at their craft.
